Mid-Texas Roadtrip Geocaching

Evan and I took a road trip and found some geocaches while we were away. The primary goal of the trip was for us to get away before I have another major surgery, but we also wanted to see some cool things and make some new memories. Also, I'm trying to see all the Texas State Parks, so seemed like a good time to combine all my favorite outdoor activities.

One of our first stops was Lake Whitney State Park, where we did some light hiking and found two geocaches. One was just funny, and if you are in the area, you should go for it: Stinky Little Cache. The other was very easy and could be spotted from a distance: Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut.

As there was another park quite nearby, we went to Lake Meridian State Park and Zinny and I joined a family in finding a geocache from the park HQ: There’s a BEAR in the woods!

Our last day of the trip is when we did the most in terms of geocaching. Just outside of Mother Neff State Park, we located D Mother Neff. This one was a little funny because Evan walked right by it but I found it right away. Nice hide.

After leaving Mother Neff State Park and on our way to Fort Parker State Park, I found a cemetery with two geocaches. One of my fave types of caches because I find cemeteries peaceful. This one was rather large and busy, so we unfortunately had to DNF Beautiful Overlook due to muggles right next to it. But we did locate Adventures of Des & a pup named Stella.

After leaving Fort Parker State Park (which has a cemetery in it, so added bonus), we found two really cute caches placed by the same family: J. K. L. E. and R&C+3B's. They had other in the series, so maybe we'd try those if in the area again. These were different than most we find and blend in remarkably well.
